Canon Envirothon

This is North America's largest high school environmental education competition, involving more than 500,000 students each year.

  • Recently, the program welcomed the first aboriginal team in North America. Eskasoni, a native reserve of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, is the largest Native community in Canada's Atlantic Provinces.

  • Diversity Enhancement and Underserved Audience Grants: To help U.S. state and Canadian provincial programs expand the diversity of student participants, this opportunity is funded by the U.S. Forest Service and Canon Envirothon. The goal is to reach Native American and other minority students, inner city youth, Francophone students, or those living in remote or economically disadvantaged areas. Recent grant awards were made to Alaska, British Columbia, California, Idaho, Maryland, Michigan, North Dakota and Ohio.
